Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Design $16,900 Fur Backpack!
It appears that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's clothing and accessories line, The Row, is offering goods that match the price tags of iconic fashion houses like Chanel and Salvatore Ferragamo.
One piece from their pre-fall collection -- the multi patchwork fur back pack -- boasts a price tag of $16,900. And while the pricey tote, which is also offered in black shiny calf skin, slate shiny alligator and black alligator, is quite eclectic, celebrity stylish Rachel Zoe has given it her stamp of approval.
"Pretty in patchwork, The Row's posh pack combines comfort and class. The fuzzy texture on this nifty knapsack is also a fashion favorite. Perfect for pre-fall, it's never too soon to start thinking ahead for your next season's staple!" the fashion guru writes in her June 26 newsletter.

Olsen Twins Slammed By Peta Over Fur Backpack.
Fashion icons Mary-kate and Ashley Olsen have come under fire for using fur in their latest accessories line.
The TV twins' clothing range The Row includes a new backpack made of animal pelt, which retails for $16,000 (£10,000).
The item has caught the attention of bosses at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta), who have condemned the pair for using the hide of creatures in the name of style.
A spokesperson for the animal rights group says, "If it looks like a troll and acts like a troll, it's probably a Trollsen Twin - or someone wearing one of their new $16,000 totes, which are made from the fur and skins of innocent animals.
"What the Olsens lack in creativity, they try to make up for in shock value. Sadly, it's the foxes, calves, and alligators - who often have the fur ripped off them while they are still conscious and able to feel pain - who pay the dearest price."

Ashley visits Bluffton, Hilton Head |

21 June 2012: Ashley Olsen spotted at the Farmers Market of Bluffton, Hilton Head.
Ashley Olsen, one of the twins from the former "Full House" TV sitcom, was out and about in Bluffton and on Hilton Head Island this week.
Olsen's photo appeared on Facebook on Friday morning after she was spotted Thursday at the Farmers Market of Bluffton.
Market manager Kimber Viljac said she wondered if it really was Olsen when she noticed the actress, but some young people there confirmed it was.
Olsen obligingly posed for a photo to help promote the nonprofit market, Viljac said, then quickly moved on before other people spotted her.
Viljac said Olsen left with fresh local produce.
Olsen also stopped by The Cottage Cafè in Bluffton for lunch Thursday with two friends.
Sarah Ramirez, an employee there, thought she recognized the star, but wasn't sure until a co-worker slipped a note to Olsen, asking if she was the famous actress. Olsen responded by leaving an autograph.
Olsen ordered steak tacos at the restaurant, Ramirez said.
"She was just real chill," Ramirez said. "She just hung out and relaxed. She wasn't all snooty. ... She was just like a regular person really."
Olsen also was seen Wednesday and Thursday mixing drinks and wiping down tables with friends at Vine in Coligny Plaza on Hilton Head.
The restaurant's owners said Olsen was in town to visit their daughters, who are longtime friends of the actress. She headed back to Manhattan on Friday.
Olsen and her twin, Mary-Kate Olsen, starred on "Full House" from 1987 to 1995. Ashley is also a fashion designer, producer and author.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have launched their StyleMint collection in the UK, via stylistpick.com.
The talented twosome, whose label The Row picked up the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award at this month's CFDA Awards, have brought the line across the pond having secured fans such as Rachel Bilson, Chloe Moretz and Emma Roberts back home.
Already the creative minds behind no less than four other line - The Row, Elizabeth and James, Textile Elizabeth and James and Olsenboye - the twins aim to offer stylish jersey pieces, from T-shirts to dresses, at affordable prices.
The StyleMint concept is the brainchild of Mary-Kate and Ashley and US entrepreneurs Josh Berman and Diego Berdakin. Started in 2011, stylemint.com requires shoppers to register as a member before undertaking a quiz to establish their style preferences; they then receive tailored monthly shopping recommendations.
Similarly, stylistpick.com offers style suggestions based on quiz answers and hand-picked by their team of stylists - who include Grace Woodward and Louise Roe. The site already includes an exclusive range of shoes designed by Cheryl Cole, as well as a large range of other clothing and accessories.
Previously, British-based fans of the Olsens' designs have only been able to buy their main line, The Row, which sees cashmere jumpers sell for a hefty £1,000, and bags upwards of £3,000.
